Standing Out

How difficult will it be for you to accept the changes in you? How difficult is it to tell yourself that what you are doing is the wrong way and that you were foolish? Yes, its very very difficult. But are you ready to accept it as a fact and live a life, and start fresh.

Is it justified to do so? To change your view on the belief that, what you initially thought was wrong and that now you are hopefully right. Thing is, its difficult to verify what is right and what is wrong. I mean how do you verify that what you are dong is right? My observations are that people tend to look around themselves and see what others are doing. That way they try to tune their life and be in harmony with others.

Trying to be in pace with others is one key point that contributes to what people think is right and wrong. Your friends, your neighbour, your partners, your colleagues, that is what contributes to your line of thought.

Imagine you alone in this world, what do you think you would do? Get knowledge and be expert or earn money or what do you think you would do. I think you would just wonder and live a life. Just wonder about yourself and live. There would be no aim, no future or career or anything. Just you and your consciousness.

But when you are in a group, you are guided by the need of a group and standing out as an individual in this world is very difficult. You either have to run away and be sage or give up everything and become insane. Sorry for those hard words. But truly, standing as an individual is difficult.

Try once and you will know.

  1. Yes being individual is tough, and the gist of what i got from your post was this (sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, but thats what I'm going through exactly):

If you live near family, relatives, friends; they expect something from you and maybe you don't want to become that. You go 'insane' trying to live up to your expectations.
Sometimes you wish to run away from all that BS and live life free and on your own.

But once you did that, you realized that it isnt easy to be just on your own. You need to have a social structure to which you can relate to and share emotions.

In a foreign land, its hard to get accepted. Its harder to find someone with similar thoughts and emotions. You are an island.

was that it? hehe maybe i was totally off, but thats what I made of your post.

you should have a 'follow blog' widget or a rss feed widget which would make life for us, google reader users, really easy:)

    peace

  2. Its some what similar to what you have mentioned. In addition, it also about the fight against the others perception that you have to carry out, internally. Taking risk and leading your life the way you think is right possess lots of internal conflict. And I do agree with you on that.

Hmm, the feed thing, I will surely do it. Didn't know its importance :)

Selling a Comb to a Bald Person?

Here my friend, Ashay, put it very truly to me that the marketer's most challenge is to sell a comb to a bald. First, I am not trying to justify anything here. But I just couldn't help thinking how on earth am I going to sell a comb to a bald. How? Just how? I kept pondering upon it till late night. I actually had very few options with me, the first was obviously to use Google and Find? :) But, I didn't do that. Some how I was still in confusion. Then just before going to sleep, I had an discussion with my other friend, on types of marketing on issues related to customer centric marketing. Hmm. Then some how it hit me. I went back to basic on my own philosophy, sell things that is needed. So here is a small anecdote I prepared : Sale Person   : Hello sir. How are you? Do you have a time, plzzz? Bald Person : (Almost confused and in social causality) OK OK what is it? I don't have time. Sale Person    : Here sir, do you want to by a comb?  Bald Person  : Can't you

Fearful Consumer Market

Consumer market is something, I always feared. During my engineering days, I knew it was one area where I would not find myself working. I always feared the harsh competition of the market. I worried if ever, anything I made would sustain in the market. Or how people would react to it? You can say, I feared criticism and all the yap yap of group of people, who knows only how to suggest but not to act. Thus, I kept my interest into custom projects and not related to anything that a single consumer would use, rather it was something of community service. But with changing time, I knew I had to make a plunge into the ocean of consumer market and face the competition. "Be a man! Dude" That is what I would say to myself. I knew I couldn't swim, but I had to give it a try.  Journey into the consumer market is like that of 20000 Leagues Under The Sea . There are so many different kinds of creatures around to look and be fascinated. Some are small living in tiny groups. Some are
